his qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have supervisory performance accountabilities.

Individuals in these roles carry out a mix of specialist and moderately complex administrative or operational tasks that require self-development skills. They use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyse information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.

The Certificate IV allows you to learn skills you can apply as you go, as well as giving you different career options to choose from. Some of the skills you will learn from the core units are:

  • Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs
  • Writing complex documents
  • How to apply communication strategies

Course Duration

This course is self-paced study

The course can be delivered over a range of course durations, depending on the needs and characteristics of the student(s) and their employer(s) where relevant.

Most students will finish the course in 12 months.

Students may complete the program earlier than these timelines through achievement of RPL, credit transfer or competency-based progression through the course.

Course Delivery

The course can be completed online, with video calls with the trainer to assist with the learning if required. Some practical components may also need to be completed via video calls, and recorded as part of the evidence.

 

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification, with the exception of the completion of a Pre-enrolment Review.

There are no licencing, legislative or certifications that apply to this qualification.

Qualifications

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded the nationally recognised Australian qualification BSB40120 Certificate III in Business.

Packaging Rules

Total number of units = 12

6 core units plus

6 elective units, of which:

  • 2 elective units must be selected from Group A
  • for the remaining 4 elective units:
  • up to 4 units may be selected from Groups A – J
  • if not listed, up to 2 units may be selected from a Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma from this or any other currently endorsed Training Package qualification or accredited course.

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

Specialisations
This qualification can provide for specialisations. To achieve a specialisation, the following additional packaging rules must be adhered to:

  • For specialisation in Leadership, 4 elective units must be selected from Group B
    For specialisation in Business Administration, 4 elective units must be selected from Group C
    For specialisation in Business Operations, 4 elective units must be selected from Group D
