You will learn to undertake the responsibilities of a security guard in a lawful, ethical and effective way.

The course consists of a self-paced study component and a classroom training component.
Students have 12 months from the date of their enrolment to complete both components of the course.
There are no prerequisite study units required for this course. Students should ensure that they are aware of the licencing requirements, such as age restrictions and disqualifying offences.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will attain the nationally recognised Australian qualification
of CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations.
On successful completion of this course, participants may apply to the Department of Fair Trading (Qld) for a Security Providers Licence. Opportunities include employment in airports, shopping precincts, retail loss prevention, close personal protection, corporate security, building industry, mine sites, mobile patrols, entertainment venues, concerts, sports events, video control rooms, alarm monitoring centres, cash transportation, bodyguard roles and more. The security industry is rapidly growing in Queensland and the opportunities are many.
Government subsidies are available for eligible students to complete their first post-school Certificate III qualification.
