This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply project management skills and knowledge in a wide variety of contexts. The job roles that relate to this qualification may include Contracts Officer, Project Administrator and Quality Officer.

Individuals in these roles work autonomously, and might be members of a project team, with no direct responsibility for overall project outcomes. Primarily, these roles would support wider project operations. They may use project tools and methodologies selectively to support organisational or business activities.

Project Managers are responsible for managing all facets of the project, from beginning to end. They define the project using scope, time and quality management skills and techniques.

 

The Certificate IV will provide you with skills you can apply now, as well as a solid career pathway.

You will learn about:

Course Duration

This course is self-paced study.

The course can be delivered over a range of course durations, depending on the needs and characteristics of the student(s) and their employer(s) where relevant.

Most students will finish the course in 12 months.

Students may complete the program earlier than these timelines through achievement of RPL, credit transfer or competency-based progression through the course, but students who are new to industry will most likely take longer to complete.

Course Delivery

The course can be completed online, with video calls with the trainer to assist with the learning if required. Some practical components may also need to be completed via video calls, and recorded as part of the evidence.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification, with the exception of the completion of a Pre-enrolment Review.

There are no licencing, legislative or certifications that apply to this qualification.

Qualifications

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded the nationally recognised Australian qualification BSB40920 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice.

Packaging Rules

Total number of units = 9

3 core units plus

6 elective units, of which:

  • 3 elective units must be selected from Group A
  • for the remaining 3 elective units:
  • up to 3 units may be selected from Groups A and B
  • if not listed, up to 3 units may be selected from a Certificate IV or higher from this or any other currently endorsed Training Package qualification or accredited course.

    Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

    Chosen elective units must not include BSBPMG430 Undertake project work.
